Animal testing

Colombia is one of the first Latin American countries to ban the import, export, manufacture and commercialization of cosmetic products tested on animals. This represents a major win for animals, however, the use of animals for medical experimentation has increased considerably. This brings concerns since in Colombia the 3Rs research method (Replacement, Reduction and Refinement.) is still precarious and imprecise and therefore it is unclear if the research is being appropriately done and if animal welfare and wellbeing is being guaranteed.
